The Spinach

Even though you might not become as strong as Popeye, as there is not as much iron in this vegetable as we thought for a long time, spinach is in any case very good for you, especially when served simply with lemon.
It is rich in vitamin A, folic acid and lutein, which is fundamental for healthy eyesight, and rich in fibre, as well as being totally cholesterol-free.
Spinach is very versatile and can be used in thousands of recipes. Toss in the pan and serve as a side dish, or use to fill savoury pies and roasts… And of course, who doesn’t love grandma’s classic ravioli stuffed with ricotta and spinach?!
