The Broccoli

They have a very distinctive smell, but are considered a genuine superfood.
Children may not like them, but there is one thing they should know: they are very good for our body.
You can eat any part of broccoli, not only the leaves but also the buds, both cooked and raw.
Broccoli are packed with vitamins, iron, potassium and calcium. They also contain fibre, which helps regulate bowel movements, as well as carotenoids, which protect the eyes. In addition, they have a low glycaemic index, which makes them very useful for keeping blood sugar levels at bay.
With their really delicate flavour, they are a great accompaniment to meat and fish. They are an ideal condiment for first courses, and why not serve them as a snack with aperitifs?!
After all, it may be worth the effort of cooking them, don’t you think?
